Hello, I was only just recently inspecting the pools within Gun'Drak abit more deeply, when i was pleasantly surprised to discover that the three grates under water do indeed lead somewhere!
Here is a map of Gun'Drak  The pool circled in the image contains three passages leading to thier corrosponding exits. e.g. from A to A etc

Just thought id share it with some like me that were unaware of this. Also actually double checking on Wowwiki its important to note Wowwiki makes no mention of these passages through the dungeon.
