The old IF is so awesome! I wish they would bring at least some of it back.

If you could make a video of Alpha Blackrock Mountain that would be cool.

Blackrock Mountain has no texture yet on the Alpha. Atleast my version does not.
Also between Menethil Harbor and Southshore there is a giant island that they started working on.

It could possible be Kul'tiras or Tol Baldar (Tol Baldar will appear in Cataclysm)

Also off te coast of Stranglethorn Vale there used to be 2 island's its quite amazing.
I'd propably say that they will "raise" from the ocean sea after Cataclysm (Maelstorm Expansion).

hey Guys..
Looks Preeeety nice =)

well i have a problem that.. ive done everything you say to get the server up and runnin.
but it keeps saying something like ( the program needs to be started by the updater ) or so..

ive done it 100 times by now and in other ways to..

done everything with the Client and the wow.ses and Realmlist.wtf
and tryed 127.0.0.1 and localhost..
none of em worked for me

so if any of you do know what to do
please help me =)

Yo man, in the folder of the Alpha WoW client there is a batch file named Client_Start.bat. Use this once you have the WoW Abyss server running, should work fine then.

Did you know, why they changed old if to the "new" gay one? Because a lot of people suicide there o: I'd read this long time ago.

Thanks aleco, i searched this one for 3 years, but never had found the alpha version. What did I have to do? Only download and export the 21 parts of wow alpha and run abys server? +rep for you

Yo n8114tw, apparently they changed the old IF to look how we see it these days because blizz thought that it was too complex and thus people would get lost too easily.

As for the installation and running, yeah, download those rar files I linked back on the first page of this thread, extract them all into a folder (I named mine WoW Alpha). Then download the Abyss server and extract that to a separate folder which is not inside the WoW Alpha folder, I named mine Abyss Server.

To run I just run the Abyss Server and click the "Start Server" button. I then navigate back to the WoW Alpha folder and run the file named Client_start.bat.

I'm having trouble getting the private server to work I have everything in the WoW foulder Ive started and followed all the instructions except I dont have a Client_start.bat If someone who does have it could just post the code I could make my own thank you.
