Nope, it is just a small strip of land on the border of the map for god-knows-what. it had been there pre-BC and starts approximately where the echo islands are. you can swim-heal from those islands as well.

I've seen this place, too.
The weird thing about is, that later the ground is not existing and you've got the ocean to the left side of you and a small strip of water, just large enough to swim in, on the right.
I've asked myself what happens, if I fall down to the right of the right strip. Because then I'm in the 'nothing'.
Will I be ported to the next graveyard and my body is on the last nearest possible land location?
That is what happened to me, when I felt into a hole in the ocean between durotar and Theramore.
But it was just 'on' the map and If I fall of the map, happens what? I could try it as well, but I've got respect from such things and I'm somebody who wants to avoid the death ... Maybe because I'm a healer ... ;P

very olds.... ages ago on my hunter me and a shammy did this from durator waterwalk and aspect of the cheeter but that strip of land goes right form durator down to dustwallow we ran the whole thing nothing down there at all
