So essentially what you mean here is is they contracted an elaborate perpetual motion device to fix this supposed problem they had with stationary overlapping continents.... instead of making them simple? That's digging out a stump with a hand grenade, my friend.
Think about it from a server maintenance and general expansion point of view. As someone who deals with generic server machines, and the loads they have to bear... way more often than I should. I can tell you it's just infeasible to place that much load on a single thread. Even assuming it was multithreaded this idea of spinning planes is just silly because it's that much more un-needed overhead.

Map X Y Z, that's all it is. If you think it's any different, you're wrong, trust me.
I think it's all really the interpretation of physical space here everyone is confusing. There is no "physical realm" to the world of Azeroth. Maps just are. This is exactly the same as saying all raid instances are stacked on one another. there is no fixed plane that the two reside on--at all--period.
