Might just be me, but I think you're on to something here.

My guess is if it was that simple it would have been done already but with the model edit fix and things like this i doubt it couldn't be done at all. Yet again i might not be understanding clearly how it was nerfed, or some people might just be keeping that private.

Wasn't the walljump "nerf" all about changing the texture landscapes to be more "smooth" so you couldn't stand on it?

It has nothing to do with hitboxes afaik.

Correct me if I'm wrong (with proof please).

Honestly I think Blizzard is way too lazy to smooth out all of the landscapes, so hitboxes for players seems much more likely. As far as I know you can't modify hitboxes in any way besides moving them around, which wouldn't really help. (Unless you can load different hitboxes in place of each other, in which case you could switch the corpse hitbox with your normal one.)

I tested it with the shaman ghost wolf and this works, too.
But it's a lot harder.

I think it was the player hit boxes too. I remember in patch notes a bit back, probably when the nerf came out, it stated that all player models have been changed to increase performance. So I do think it goes with the player's hitboxes, or something related.

Also, seeing how a Ghost Wolf, Spirit form, or even while mounted, walljumping is possible, its further proof that a simple change to the characters were made to prevent walljumping.

I'll have to try and swap previous models with the current ones, and see what happens, if I can find the previous ones.

Here are the 2.0 files [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

if you need any other version copy your wow folder, go into the copied folder then Data, delete patch.mpq and patch-2.mpq and run repair.exe you'll get 2.0.0 then you can update to whatever version you need.

They dont make wow crash but walljumping doesnt work much more with those i think we're not looking exactly at the right place...

Quite the challenge... gonna be a hard one to find out whats causing the nerf. I'm not much of an expert in the area, so I dunno what could be changed around with the characters other than model files.

In a crazy thought i tried to take the common.mpq and expansion.mpq of the 2.0.0 and renamed them to load them with the edit fix... well maybe they're too large cause it looks like it didnts want to load and i got stuck with a black screen but no hard drive activity... ill try to remove useless things in the patch and try to get most of the old stuff loaded. Or ill make a 2.3 folder and a 2.4 and find the differences between both.

Lol It really isnt about models or hitbox's same is the speed boost

They didnt change how the enviroment is smoothed, and it isnt hard for them lol

the enviroments are actually made in a shitty low poly form and then smoothed

http://photos1.blogger.com/blogger/8...alidar_WDL.jpg

The way wallwalking worked was your character would come in contact with the edge or a vertice on the enviroment and you would be able to follow that along a wall.
blizzards response to that was fixing the movement of the character, as well as the way your characters physics interacted with the enviroment's model so you could no longer walk on walls, thus wall jumping was found, jumping onto a vertice or edge of the enviroment and your character "sticking" to it,

They nerfed this by fixing the physics of the enviroment and your characters movement in the sense of jumping

it may be possible that with an increased speed that you move farther and at a smoother angle

so instead of going 2 feet up and 10 feet away it stretches it out and its makes it longer if you can understand that, making it so you can stick to a vertice or edge possibly more easy

but correct me if im wrong, cant you still walljump while your not dead, and its really really hard. might have to do with your characters hitbox but i mean thinking about the game engine and rednering engine that wouldnt make much sense.
