Hey, I was atm (shocked tho) trying a discovery/Exploit here...trying to unform and re-form at the invisible barrier.
Now, I diead (that thing is fixeD! De-Rep for U!
I was walking and accidently went through the Portal...
Now, I am at Blasted Lands...
My Corpse in the midst of Hillsbrad Foothils.
When I move zones, I get a spam of "Changed channel from Twisting nether"
"Entered channel Terrokar Forest" etc Every Zone! Blades edge, Netherstorm! QUITE A SPAM!
(When I move from Blasted lands to Swamp of Sorrows)
Now, I believe that it is true that Azeroth, Outland or idk etc are 'overlap'..
But I revealed something else! If my body dies in the Most-Eastern Edge of Outland...
means that it pehaps covers all azeroth and into a direct like of Hillsbrad (Bottom and Up) OR, unpresumably that it covers All Kalimdoor and (NOT THE Great Sea, remember our Discoveries!) and into Hillsbrad Foothils...Means that Outland all are yes overlap...but Chained like steps, One lower, the next more left/right but above.
All Theory.
Thank you!
EDIT #1: YEs I am still dead, and keep discovering things! I just discovered that my map has 'moved' aswell, I cannot target Hillsbrad foothils (My Corpse location!) Instead, it clicks on Silvermoon, Wetlands, Hellfire Peinunsula.
EDIT #2: I believe my corpse is moving! It was a sec in Hillsbrad, then appears in the Mountains of Alterac!
EDIT #3: Coming Soon!

The outlands and kalimdor and eastern kingdoms all separate instances, bt i do believe that there are ALOT of buggy glitches where ghosts or corpses can cause huge screw ups, I made a similar post and have seen several similar ones, but each zone has only data connections to the next, possibly we oculd start mapping the locations out at mmowned, if we could cause the thing to happen a few times, maybe find a way to exploit these hootspots to teleport accross the world?
NOTE: Silvermoon, blood elf starting area, draenei starting area ARE on same instance as outlands, but not resto of continents (thus why u need loading screen between daenethyst isle and kalimdor, or ghostlands to epl.

I find it refreshing to see that there are still people who don't believe in all that "instances are either in a physical state of overlapping OR there is no such thing as instances and everything's connected" theory stuff.
wait how did you die or whatever switcihng from the portal? i once read a post a long time ago that if i log of on a high area like amountain ro something, i men not log off get DC'ed tat sometimes u pop up in an area on the other continent, was a long time ago i read it tho. but still shows possible overlapping of the two continents

Continents are individual instances. you can perceive it any way you like, but they are. They are, however different, obviously, than a dungeon instance. As there is a lot more going on. The goings on of these continent instances are handled by the map server, area server, whatever your might call it. all this really shows is that the physical location, and relative location can become de-synced.
In short, you can physically be in one location, seeing say, duskwood, but your character is stiller registered server side as being on continent X, when in actuality, you locally, are on Y.
In logging out, you would find this fixed. This is essentially the same as a recent problem I had, where I died in an obscure place in Kalimdor, and it tried to send me to the coordinates of the nearest spirit healer in Kalimdor, but in Eastern Kingdoms.
If these continents were overlapping as you people think, for whatever reason, the Z value would show such. But you'll find that differing Z coordinated at the same X, Y pinpoint do nothing but move you above or under the ground. And the same XYZ on different instance maps are also VERY different.
In fact, the logical explanations above weren't even needed, as they are DIFFERENT MAPS. Instances have no "physical" location, they just are. You can visualize them stacked like paper, or on their side like dominoes, but they are what they are.
Anything past this is just fighting over definitions of space in a virtual world not using fixed locations.
