Hey, I remember a few weeks back reading a post that led to speculation about if continents overlap. I couldn't find a single post on the site that confirmed it so I dont think this is a repost.

Today i took a zeplin from tristfal to org. i dc'ed on the way there and when i logged back in i was still in tristfal. i took the zeplin successfully to org but when i got there everyone dueling out front had the name "unknown" above their head so i figured i would dc pretty quick. I did a few seconds later, fixed my router that was causing me to dc so much and when i logged in I was falling through the world.

I could still see someone who was on the ground but take a look at my location.

I then released spirit and this caused me to port to a random spirit rezer and keep falling forever.
this time in the hinterlands just a few yards south across the border.

So at this point im stuck for good without the help of a GM so I page one. and after a little while he says hes going to port me out. Just before the port he rezed me and i had just enough time to SS a dead body that was laying infront of the gates before i fell through.

The GM rezed me and summoned me to undercity but offered me a port to org since thats where i was headed. I SS'ed the dead body that I could see when i was in the hinterlands which is on the eastern kingdoms, when i was standing infront of org's gate on kalimandor. take a look at the convo with the GM, the dead body, and the torches which where consistent in each zone

pretty much this is the points that are overlapping.

pretty useless IMO but it's solid proof that should end any questions of zones overlapping

lol at gm cant spell orgrimmar..

but i was stoning around in wow map viewer earlyer.. went looking for that ship supposed to be under ground near dalaran at coords 0 0 0 .. wasnt there so i looked in stonetalon.. couldnt find it either..

but anyway based on where 0 0 0 is on the maps it looks like orgri and that place in epl would have the same coords..

to me this doesnt really prove anything thou.. could be a random glitch where because you are under the map wow ****s up a bit and shows u the wrong minimap... if they in fact is on top of each other wouldnt u be able to fall from one to the other?? unless theres a invisible floor in the middle ofc..

Justathought, take another look at the SS of when im alive falling. you can see trees from hinterlands going directly into where org would be. Maybe they are not on different levels but actually just on one. Depending which way your instancing (take a boat to, whatever be the case) it decides what continent you can and cant see. make since? who knows

yea i actually did notice those trees and forgot again

but then im guessing wow bugs because u fell tru and think your at both maps at once..

your "on same level" theory.. from a design / programming point of view i would think this would be very stupid.. and wouldnt it make stuff like wow map viewer **** up? wow cant send a code for what continent your on to wow map viewer.. wow map viewer doesnt extract any game code, only the maps.. so in my logic it would show both at once...

i dunno but im pretty shure eastern kingdoms and kalimdor are 2 seperate gigantic instances and its just the "gps" that ****s up..

well if they are infact in two very different far away areas i dont see why objects from each others respective zone would show through especially if the objects (trees) would be instanced. pretty weird but the way the GM responded seems like he doesn't disagree with me

i dont see the logic either..

but putting two places in the same place makes much less sense to me.. it would be a waste of cpu to seperate the two places.. it would be a pain in the ass to design.. you would either have to have a way to turn one map off (waste of cpu as it would still be there, just invisible) or you would have to design em seperatly and then put em together but that would be a waste of time.. just stupid.. in my oppinion

also gm's just like to be mysterious.. i think they are told to.. they never agree/disagree to anything unconfirmed..

GMs lie, they tell stories, they make spelling errors. ^_^

It was also confirmed that my disconnecting issues were caused by gnomes travelling through my router and mashing it up (confirmed by a GM). I meen, some things they say are true, but others are good fun.

This is strong evidence, but not enough to prove the zones overlap, because that would be silly. I believe it's just a quincidence that the torches seem to be in the same pattern and model as one other because Blizzard love to use the same model over and over again. In this case they were in the same area (generally).

Really interesting theory, that's why your getting +2 rep from me, but as the Myth Busters would say:

i think ur rigth about the overlapping, i remember i read somehwere that if u go to a high place with not much things around like idk a mountaintop and make yyourself DC you sometimes pup up on the other continent

This explains when I DCed in the elevator in undercity I ended up in Stonetalon...It matches up well with your map

It is CONFIRMED... Undercity is exactly where stone talon would be on that map

Thats like me. One time i was in the water behind winterspring and i died. then i got ported to the Westfall Spirit healer.. it was really crazy lol.
