Ok so you have just picked up the oppisite side's flag... u run and u see a player with low hp... u go into the wall with the flag bugged into the wall and you bandage them... and BAM!!!! the flag is gone!!! now you can just run away You wont be able to tsee the flag on you but on ur buffs u will

This isn't just client side, I had this happen on my twink when I bandaged up some noob priest with my mighty heavy runecloth. When it happened to me I asked the nearby teammates if they could see the flag and they could not. I've been trying for a while to reproduce it but I guess the key that I was missing was to have the flag colliding with a wall. I'll definetly be checking this out.
