Did a few searches for FPS and Frame Per Second Cap increase and stuff, and couldn't find it - if it is a repost then please just delete it. Dont bump it by flaming.
Secondly, its not excatly an 'exploit', but a console command. If you would like to move it, again, just move it and dont flame it. Cheers.

This will disable or adjust your fps cap, so that you can run it as fast as your card will allow. Here we go;


Ok, first thing would be to disable your vsync. This can be done through your graphics card control panel.

Then, enter wow and enter one of the following commands;

/console maxfps 100

This will increase the cap to 100fps.

/console maxfps 0

This will disable the cap completly.

now, hit Ctrl+R to see your fps fly!

although this will effect your gfx card negatively, the card has a set limit for a reason to prevent overheating so by doing this your just asking for your card (in the long run) to get ****ed up.

i actually didnt knew this, but after i wrote /console maxfps 100 from 34 it went to.... 34.... not difference at all ^^

As Deo said, it will let your video card out of its cage and make it rampage the town of FPS. And your video card aint the most durable thing if you dont have a fancy cooler on it.

If your wow is capping, the it should be high enough to have an excellent feel. so just leave it, its not worth risking your card just for a little extra fps. They don't come cheap ;D

Btw, is it diffrent max fpses in diffrent cards? I can't go over 100 with my (by default).

I don't recommend you to put your FPS to fly sky high.. it makes the GPU work unnecessarily and it increases the heat on the GPU. Keep it at 60-70, higher than 70 in my opinion is unnecessary and only stresses the hardware.

vsync = off - FPS goes as high as yer Graphics card can put it.... to

But yeah, nice if ye want to prevent your FPS to be massive 'n stuff.

Tho, it's a fact that you can't see the difference in FPS after it goes over 80.

You could also just turn off your vertical sync, which makes your card stay at what ever your moniters refresh rate is. If the vertical Sync is off then your card is free to pump your FPS to whatever your card can handle, I personally can get over 120 in SW.

edit: i highly dont recommend pushing your fps past what it can handle otherwise,

example, u turn of VS and your getting an average of about 40fps still, cranking the FPS to 100 is going to tear up your machine, so DO NOT do that.

one more thing, the human eye can only see 60fps so anything above that is a waste anyways...

Vsync tries to hold ur fps at ur screen's refresh rate, say the refresh rate is 60 hertz, ur fps will be around 60 (if ur gfx card allows u to go that "high"), this also means that with a decent gfx card, Vsync will prevent any big fps drops in crowded areas.
In WoW u wont notice much difference in smoothness after ~50fps, so I usually keep Vsync on, altho I could have 100+ fps on highest settings if I wanted to.
just explaining what it does exactly, and I agree with the ppl that do not recommend this console command, there's no use having an fps other than showing off.
