But yeah, nice if ye want to prevent your FPS to be massive 'n stuff.

Tho, it's a fact that you can't see the difference in FPS after it goes over 80.

Over 'n Out.

- i guess o_o-
Actually the cap on vsync is 60 default.. its liek this for many other games to

Wow, This is risky, Please Do NOT try this.

Your card is going at the FPS it can handle. Plus i doubt increasing the Max FPS will increase the FPS its going at.

But anyone who wants to try this be prepared to buy yourself a new card.

Just to clear this out, having your FPS limit set to 100 or 10000 w/e does NOT cause your gfx-card to overheat! When you set the FPS limit high, your only seeing your cards true power, = the performance it is meant to output. When you have VSync on, the game will limit the max FPS to correspond with your displays refresh rate (so if you have VSync on, this command should not show any difference unless you set it below your refresh rate, and that means slower FPS. And then again, if you have Vsync off, the FPS cap is already set to 'unlimited'. So this command is actually only good for limiting your FPS, not increasing).

For example: if your getting 60FPS with 60Hz refresh rate while VSync is on, and 120FPS while VSync is off and/or you have set your max fps to 'unlimited', then your gfx-card is running at 50% while VSync is on, and at it's full capacity when VSync is off. So unless your gfx-card's fan or something is broken, you should not experience overheating.

Sorry to bump old threads, but I feel this needs to be answered.

Higher FPS means your graphics card is working less, generally. You CANNOT destroy a graphics card by running too many frames through it every second. Crysis ingame with nothing loaded does 999.99 FPS, do you think my graphics card is going to explode?

As said before, increasing the maximum of something has nothing to do with how much is being used. Your bank account holds as much money as you want to put in it, FYI.

A computer screen however, is completely different ( don't ask me how they are, it's due to size of the object, pixels, the lack of motion blur and a lot of other stuff)
Besides, it has already proven that the human eye can percieve over 200 fps
Last i checked TVs run at 25fps.

The human eye may be able to see 200 fps, but that doesnt mean that rendering more than 60ish fps will make the game look any better
