Ok, I have tried this place as a prot pally, and it was great, but I would assume that it would work for everyone. I also brought in a mage to help out, and we were making a killing, literally.
Anyway, in 2.3 they made a lot of changes in Dustwallow Marsh, and one of those changes was making the Theramore Deserters agro. These are the mobs that protect the tower for an alliance quest called "The Deserters". I am 99% sure it was called Lost Point, or Lost Tower, or something. Anyway, if you go to [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] you can look at the map, and see where it is. Don't mind the yellow dots over by Theramore, I am talking about the mass on the west side.
Anyway, when I went there to do my quest, I started to kill the now agro mobs. After about three had died, I started to get more and more adds, and I could not figure out why. The reason why, is that the respawn rate at this tower is insanely high. Now, this is always an AoE teams dream, but usually there are ranged mobs, healers, casters, and that sort of stuff around. Not here! Ther are all straight melee, with no real tricks. On top of that, they are all in a really small area, so you can go and grab 8-10 mobs VERY easily.
Even better, is that level 35 is about when prot pallies can start reliably using thier AoE skills, so this is the perfect time.
Anyway, the mobs inside the tower, the Lieutenants, were agro to me as an alliance character, but I was told that this was only because I had the quest to kill the mob inside the tower. Anyway, check it out for yourself, and tell me how you like it. Also, let me know if the mobs inside the tower are agro to you or not. I would assume that Blizzard will change the respawn times, since for most players, it makes the quest pretty much impossible to finish.
36-41 Dustwhallows 41-46 Blasted lads ( some birds and rocks ^^)
46-51 Tanaris Pirate place. 51-54 Western plague lands, Undeads at near allaince flying spot. its ''graveyard''.
To got tanaris YOU MUST HAVE TO BE 46, Or they have chance to RESIST your frost nova and then you Screwed. same think in Westerns..
The "Tanaris Pirate Place" is an ok spot, but there is a lot of ranged in that area, which complicates things. If you go there, I would suggest you stick to certain spots. The dock there is kind of nice. I usually grab the two near the shack, run across the dock near the cannon or whatever, and grab those two, and then run the length of the dock, grabbing all the mobs all the way to the boat. Sometimes there is a ranged mob mixed in, but you can usually get all melees if you are careful.
While you wait for them to respawn, you can hit up the big boat that is being rebuilt. The dock workers are not ranged, and have no skills, and the boat has only dock workers. So if you start grabbing them on the ramp up, grab all the mobs on the top deck, and then hop down below, you can get a large amount.
Also, if you are a pally, working with a partner, such as a mage in my situation, I would suggest you stop half way, and let the mage pull the rest. Keeping the mobs chasing you can be a problem, and if the mage agros more, you can Righteous Defense them right off of the mage, and not lose any agro. Or, the mage can gather, and ice block to give you agro, or you can use Blessing of Protection to pull the agro to you instantly. Anyway, the possibilities are limitless, but working in a pair is great, especially if you can pull in massive amounts of mobs.
Any feedback? How is this working out for everyone? I plan on taking advantage of this with as many chars as possible, since I am sure blizzard will change it. The quest is just too hard to solo as it is now, so I am sure this is a bug. On the plus side, I have at least 40 stacks of silk cloth now, lol.
Yes I did this on my prot pally, really great spot. I had barely finished looting the group I just killed until they were respawning again and aggroing on me. This spot is the best ever for AoE'ing.
High respawn rate, only melee, and they run away and bring back more mobs to you.
I have been doing this for 4 days now, and there seems to be no one else even coming near me. RARELY I see someone walk down the road next to this tower, but I swear, it is like a ghost town. I can't believe that such an awesome grinding spot has no one else there... almost all of the other places are packed with people.
