This does not work, i repeat it does NOT work!
i tried it today and it doesn't work... i got 2v2 1854 personal rating, and then joined a 5v5 team with rating 2107, highest team available....
joined it, 10 seconds after tried to buy item, said "you do not have enough personal rating"...
so for all you out there trying to do this atm, DON'T

So assuming i understood this correctly, this isent a exploit to get "higher" arena points but to get your personal rating up??

Roller: yes it is a way of getting personal rating up, not to get more arena points each week.

Does anyone know if i maybe did something wrong :/ my 2v2 team rating is 1514 and personal 1854, do i need to wait untill a maintenance for it to work or?

Its funny how no one tested this, and when someone does, no one replies. Also, its pretty funny how people say "if you didn't ask for rep, I would have rep'd you"... If you're just going to say that, doesn't that count as flaming? Since only one freaking person is required to say this, and the rest of you are just plain *******s, seriously

guys you got it all wrong. so you got your 2vs2 with 1000 tr [team rating] and 1850 pr [personal rating]. all you have to do now is go to the best guild on your realm and ask a rogue and a priest to rate your team back to 1850 for xxx gold. when they are done you will be able to buy the items because you have the pr and the tr up to 1850. lame. BUT SIMPLE. it takes too much time for me to do it like this tho. if you dont believe me look on patch notes it hotfixed you need both ratings [of the same team] to be up to 1850/2000 for the items. have a nice day. +rep the idea is smart

no this does not work, a mate of mine had a 1850+ 3v3 personal rating while haveing a 1500 team rating and then joined some high rated 2v2 team and was not able to buy himself a weapon, so dont try to do this.
