Well.. I'll try to clear things up to you.

1. You find your name on the internet (google etc)
- If there is no result, you make a new homepage, with some violent stuff and tell the GM's that you don't want to be related to that. Its quite simple.

If your name is;
"Pikmin" then you ask for a name change, since is "Pik" is "Dick" in danish and "min" is "mine" in danish..
You gotta make a context to relate to.. Tell them that you don't want people to relate stuff to your name..

I tried this along time ago with my pet, I was eating a delicious taco when I tamed it (a white lion that only is summoned from a horde only quest, so quite difficult for alliance to get) and so I named it epictaco. I later didnt like the name so I petitioned a GM to ask for a namechange for epictaco and told him that I found out epictaco is actually slang for good p**sy. He said sorry I could live with it or retame the pet but he wouldnt change it.

But! alas a happy ending, I've started using the word in context and now I love the name and am glad I didnt change it!! Hurray!

Well, i tried such stuff 2 days ago... I spoke to 3 different GMs...

There are (not so good known) artists which has my name, there is a company which has my name and so on, but the GM's just recognize I just want to change my name. And they won't do. They just say "The companie must contact us" or "The artist must contact us" or "Well, nearly every character finds something when he types his name in google" and so ****ing on. It just pisses me of. I also tried deleting my char and let someone other make a lvl 1 char with my name and then let MY char restore by a GM, but the GM changed the name of the lvl 1 char -.-
I just don't know what the **** to do. I think I gonna write a ticket and tell them I gonna pay 20$ for a namechange.... lol.

sure does seem like alot of work. just tel gm someone is harassing you and you want to change your char name.

ay aya ay, the theory is you create a website where a gang or w/e has the name of your toon, and youa sk a gm to change, but according too previous posts wont work, but maybe if you respond to GM with... "But its a ba influence/criminal..... i donmt wanna be associated, cuz a guy PSTed me last week to tell me bout website!" like whining maybe?

Delete your character, make a alt with your old name, go on to another character and ask blizz to restore your olg character. Because someone has your old name already the GM might ask you if you would like a new name.

THis currently happens when you migrate server when someone has your name already.

yeah, you would be forced to change your name.. although I think the GM's will just change it to the closest thing to it, say..

Your name is "Yakuma", the Gm's would change it to "Yukuma"
