We all know that in the first room of Scholo, those blue ghosts drop LIFESTEALING. I play on Khaz'goroth where Lifestealing goes for about 90-120g depending on the AH.

So like any smart person, I started farming them.

Now, here is where I found a glitch that seems to have worked about 60-70% of the time.

When I started going in there, I would go down the right stairwell, kill the pats and then work the middle of the room, before killing the last two ghosts in the far corner. (If you've been there, you should know what I mean.)

So I went through, killed, reset, killed some more.

Anyway, long story short. One day I decided to jump down and go into that tunnel under the stairs to kill that ghost first and be damned if Lifestealing didn't drop. So I killed the rest of the ghosts in the room, reset...then came back and cleared, then reset. Once again...ghost in the tunnel, first kill, Lifestealing.

I have gone back a few times and sometimes it works, and other's it doesn't. It's like a wave glitch that comes and goes. I farmed 5 in about an hour.

STEP BY STEP

Clear room

Exit Scholo

Reset

Go back in

Kill ghost in the tunnel first.

Clear room

Exit

Reset

Clear room

Exit

Rest

Kill ghost in the tunnel.

Not going to say it works everytime, but it seems too frequent to be coincidence.

I did it 3 times and no lifestealing so far... maybe you just got incredibly lucky?

I didn't get one off the ghost in the tunnel, but I went down the right stair way, and got one on my first ghost kill in the main area.

HAH, lifestealing goes for 5-10g on my server, i was lucky to sell my 2 recipes

5th time, i have killed all the spectral researhers from the 1st room, always killed the one in the tunnel first, no luck :E

Lifestealing recipe drop ALOT.. The chances for it to drop are good... Dont think this work..

It worked for me.
Heres what i did:

As you come into Scholomance you see 4 Sceletal Mobs, kill em, in the next room where ther stairs go into 2 directions, you have to kill everything, and everyone. I dont quite remember if we killed the Ghost that is in the small tunnel in this room. The tunnel is under the place where the stairs go into 2 directions.

After you cleared the room (whether with or without the ghost in the tunnel), leave the instance, reset. Kill the 4 Sceletons, jump down, dont kille anything else - kill the ghost in the tunnel. There it was Formula : Lifesteal.

It worked for me on the first time. But of course there is this small chance that it was a random drop, however it didnt work for me on the 2nd and 3rd time but on the 4th it droped again.

Pity that you can only have 5 ID's per hour.
