Whilst i'm leveling my warrior who wields the Whirlwind Axe, i've occasionally used moves the moment i'm about to hit, thus removing that hit. Shortly after, I will experience one number, then another. After experimenting a little more, this is my discovery.
Your about to hit, use a move that will stop you for a brief moment and make you not hit with standard damage [For example, hamstring]. Then, when your preparing for your next hit, you will do one hit, BUT, two damage numerals will come up. This is basically a way of saving damage up though it's not really useful, it can help if you want to do a lot of damage to a mob when they're almost dead.

my question is: can this be confirmed? seems to me like this would be client-side rather than serverside. if you can get a video from two parties and both show that the damage is in fact coming in a later burst, ill give you some rep!
and of course, leave it to alk to think of a use for anything ;]

Reputation: 1 | | | Re: Saving Damage I've experienced this countless times when judging/crusader striking on my ret (I respecced! Don't hate!) paladin. It seemed like it was doing the damage on the next attack, but I'm pretty sure it is just clientside, and it doesn't hurt the monster more. |

However if you can prove it, be my guest! :]

Reputation: 17 Level up: 73%, 139 Points needed | | | | Re: Saving Damage This is just client-side, and it's just your UI catching up with the server. Your special attacks don't all reset your attack timer, and if you use it just before your attack timer is up, the special attack graphic trumps the white damage, and gets shown first. The white number you see is just the damage you did before, finally making its way to the screen. The damage will be done already and the health bar will already have reflected it (hence how I know what I'm talking about, this happens to me all the time). | | |
