Well I have been using this method for quite a while now and I thought it was pretty well known, I did a little search around the site but didn't manage to find it.

Ever been in WSG when the flags just been captured, you look left then right but there's no one to be seen?

well you can be that person here's how.

Step 1. Download a bandwidth controlling program, DU Super 
Controller seems to be a popular one on this forum so ill use that in my 
example.

Step 2. Join a WSG Match.

Step 3. Find a nice place to hide near there flag. (I like being above the alli 
flag)

Step 4. Alt tab out of the game and set the upload for WoW to 1b then go 
back in game.

Step 5. Run like hell right click that flag and keep on running. 

Step 6. When you feel safe and you're out of the Enemy base alt tab and set 
your upload limit back to unlimited. The flag should pop on to your shoulders 
and they wont know what hit them.

HOW THIS WORKS:
By setting your upload to 1b you are only uploading 1b instead of your 
connections capabilities. Meaning Blizzards server doesn’t receive your 
information until you set it to unlimited again.
When you set it to unlimited again the server receives all your information at 
once. From where you first were standing to the flag pickup to the point your 
standing now. Like a Lag spike.

NOTES:
How far you can run varies on your internet connection, I can make it half 
way up my tunnel before getting D/C).

When clicking the flag it wont pickup until you have set your upload back to 
unlimited.

The point that you choose to set the upload to 1b is the point where your 
character will be standing until you tell the server otherwise. so hide safe.

If you are out of range of the flag when you set the upload to 1b it will not 
load when you run near it (because the server thinks your still at you start 
location). so be in range while in your hidey spot.

And yes as you said, you get DCed, that kinda makes this annoying as hell :P

What i do is grab the flag, run, and when they see me, lag run towards them. When i think my lag clone is far enough, i just run to my base and score while they were distracted =)

i believe that this will show to the server as you teleporting....well, the location change will but the packets might tell them it was lag.

First of all this is tester for 1.12 and works.

Just to clear things up I have been reported using this method.
One alliance guy made a character on my server just to flame the hell out of me for teleporting.

I have not heared from a GM so im not sure if he actually did report me.
I was laughing at him saying haha report me, because through experience im sure it will look like a lag spike to them.

I've tried with my brother during 1.11 for a dupe with this.
Over and over and over, even to the point that my character was bugged in Orgrimmar i had to get a GM to get me out

Yes DU Super Controller is a triel program but no need to get all sad faced about it, there are serials on the internet availabe.
(am i alowed to post serials here?)


PS. this also works for running instances. i do it all the time.
its become very common with me and my brother and has formed a name the "Lag Hop".

Hi, I'm new here but I would like to comment on this exploit. When I tried it today in warsong it makes it so i get the "Got the flag" message but then it would not show up on me and I can not cap it even though it shows that I have it on the scoreboard.

It works, except that you can't grab the flag after you restrict the speed. I tried 2-3 times and each time it would say "Gell has picked the Horde Flag", but I would never be carrying it.

On one of the occasions it said this message and another alliance picked up the flag as well.

Anyway, it's still awesome at confusing the enemy. +rep

Hmm, the only time the flag hasnt shown on my character is when another player has grabed the flag before i reset my upload limit, then theres no message at all...

but besides that i have ran the flag up and down WSG and caped with this.

this is very interesting as to why that happens...

.. im stumped.
