I found this quite by accident. I was killing humanoids for some cash right after hitting 40 and getting my mount. I just killed the last one and was about to mount up and hit a higher level area for maybe more gold. Now I right clicked the corpse and right before the loot box came up i hit my mount key. I saw the box open for a brief second, thought I'd looted it and even heard the coin sound and saw that I'd gotten 8 silver and 23 copper.

I was about to run off when I saw the body still had that loot "twinkle" going on so I unmounted and looted it again. The same 8 silver and 23 copper and this time a couple of trash items. I verified it and I was in fact receiving gold twice!!

I tested this on every single mob on the area and it works like this:
1. Right click corpse and hit mount key as soon as your character bends over to loot.
2. You should here a "coin sound" and see that you've received X money.
3. Interrupt the mounting or unmount and loot the body again, you get the money plus items this time.

Now for some reason it only gives money twice. Meaning you can't get the gold 3 times or 4 times. I don't know why this is I tried repeating the mount step a second time on the mob and it doesn't work. Just a neat way of doubling your earning potential. Try to hit a movement key or escape before you mount. Mounting and Dismounting all the time while fighting mobs looks suspicious.

I have this happen to me a few times. Not using that particular method though.

Plus I see that in the log I was suppose to get double the coin from the mob, but never really checked my balance before or after.

I have auto loot turned on so when i click the corpse it loots everything. Well alot of the time I am trying to power through mobs and don't take the time to fully watch the bag open. It is sort of like a running loot.

Sometimes it happens and sometimes it does not. I will see if I can find a way to make it happen more often as well as the loot/mount thing.

On a side note I have never seen an item do this only coin....

yeah ur log is showing u that u looted twice but u just looted the cooper ... once. i think its kinda bug and this is very old.

As others have already stated, this is old, very old. And it is an interface bug. You view yourself looting twice, but the server really only lets you loot once. I'm surprised people are still posting this and not even actually checking their money in their bag first. Give some gold to a friend so you have an even number. Say 100g, then go do this and see if you go up to 100g 2s 40c or if indeed you really go up to 100g 4s 80c . Post a screenshot as proof, non edited. Until then, this is old news and does nothing.
(I like to make a good post now and then, let me know if I was too harsh)
