Okay... So here's what you need to do:
Equip the UNIQUE 2 hand weapon you want to DW in your offhand. Equip a trash 2H in your main hand.
Fill your bags and your bank completely with trash.
Spec out of Titan's Grip. (Now easier with dual spec.)
Logout.
Log back in. Your offhand two hander will be missing. Not in your bank or your bags because there was no room for it.
Equip the other copy of the 2 hand weapon in your MH.
Respec INTO Titan's Grip. Make sure your bags are full. Relog.
When you return, you should be dual wielding again, with the missing weapon back in place.
This trick may also be good for smuggling a copy of Devastation outside Tempest Keep by shuffling the weapon into limbo, leaving, relogging with it restored. I can't promise this one. It would be a lot of work for a 15 minute duration item.
Might be worth seeing if you can mail Devastation using MOLL-E since it can reportedly survive mailing based on reports of GM exploits. With no duration in the mail, you could get more use out of it and maybe get your hands on two to try the original exploit to DW it.   |

Also, I would recommend to people experimenting with character buffers to be very carefull, since it can either get your item lost, or corrupt your character (stuck in a bugged state).
Finally, I think this thread should be removed to prevent a fix from happening, character buffers are used / a key element of some of the most powerfull exploits available on retail servers (server desynch ; multi crafts with one set of mats, dupe, etc)

THIS is what I call an exploit. Very nice.
So what happens if you relog/zone without your bags/bank being full. Does this last?

Well, I wouldn't be offended if this was removed/moved if only because I suspect character buffers will allow for some very cool bugs/exploits when faction transfers open up. (I'm thinking you might be able to smuggle items past the cross-faction filters. Which would be LEGENDARY if you could sneak rep granting items past.)
I would like to know how to get other items into the buffer though for purely experimental reasons. |

My advice would be to have every faction-specific item you can think of, including low level stuff, in your inventory when you do it, for full bragging rights potential.
I figure Tier 9 WILL get converted. Mounts should and MOST would be unusable after changing races anyway (I can think of at least one that isn't locked race specific). The 100 mounts, the motorcycles and city boss mounts should be converted. If they're smart, Argent Tournament rep items should convert as well.
The leveling PvP gear, ALL the tabards, vendor-bought items (like the Tranquillen items or the Blood Elf vendor gear)... Somewhere in there is something that will be missed for conversion and if you have it, you get to be one-of-a-kind. If it isn't game breaking in any way (ie. no stat advantage), I suspect Blizz won't be in a hurry to fix it.
But I would strongly advise anyone on here who does a faction transfer when they launch to have a character loaded with faction-specific items to see what slips through. And the "character buffer" may be a way for warriors, at least, to slip an offhand item through since items in the buffer may bypass the conversion filter. |
