Well anyways I was running Ramps and BF all day and finally managed to get to level 65. All those runs there was at leaste two chests and at leaste one of them was locked. So me being the rogue it was my job to unlock it. I was unlocking them and then rolling but, kept loosing wich made me mad because I unlocked it for them. So I came up with an idea that I would tell them my skill was to low and I could not open it. Then when we finished the instance or the group left I would go bak to the chest, unlock it, get the loot and get out of there. It's kinda a mean but, I really like gold, lol. Well this is my first post so, please don't flame.

If your in a ghay group and they are saying if you just take it we will kick you, and your almost at the end of the instance so you want to finish it just say my skill is too low and you cant open it, then once you have finished the instance go and get it for yourself..

You can check what skill the rogue has by using the armory.
Just remove the # in the url so it looks like this
[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
Then right click and take view source, then look for a line named this
<skill key="lockpicking" max="0" name="Lockpicking" value="300"/>
and there is his skill in lockpicking

i did the same in steamvaults me and my pally friend had been in pug group and clocked a chest around some mobs that the group said was a waste of time killing. so at the end of the instance me and my friend went back to the chest he stayed out of aggro range i ran into the mobs and kited them away and he looted was pretty cool cause we got a valeno's longbow and auction off for 200g and split the profit

In PUGs when I see a chest (dwarf racial FTW) that's not too visible I pretend not to see it. If none of the others comment on it, I simply go afk for a while after the last boss to make sure they leave the instance before me

A guy tried to do this on me last night, but I was still there to hold the instance for my flowerpicking girlfriend =P Think he was a bit pissed that I was staying around ^^ If something like that happens, pretend that you all of a sudden found it and share it with whomever is left =P

As a rogue, I agree that rogues should get all locked chests if nobody has any skeleton keys. If they didn't have me in their group, they wouldn't get the chest anyway.

I disagree that a rogue should get to keep everything in the chest just because the are the ones that can open it. That would be like a mage charging you money for food and water in party. Or a Priest charging you for a Fort buff. WTF!! The who idea of a instance is for people to work together in order to defeat the dungeon. Yes, i understand that it takes time to get your lock picking skill up. Now if the rogue in my group wanted to lie and say he couldnt open the chest and stayed after to get it well then that is better then somebody expecting me to think that he should be able to keep the chest. Ohh another expample. That is like a enchanter keeping the shards that got DE or charging you to DE them because he spent teh time lvling his profession.
