I'm new and I discovered today a new little (I said little !) exploit. This works as a mage, beacause needs you to buy something important.
This is not a repost, but similar to something recently posted (about the Dying Curse trinket).

Here is the trinket you need, an interesting trinket that can proces on all spells (and also on Crafts).
Now, I discovered that the trinket proces with a 95% rate (approximatively) on "Dalaran Brillance".

So you must :
1. Be a mage.
2. Loot the "Dying Curse" trinket.
3. Buy the "Tome of Dalaran Brillance" at Dalaran
When you want to activate the proc, just cast the spell (for example, at the start of a boss fight).
The trinket has a 45sec internal CD, so don't be afraid if it can't be spammed.
The advantages :
1. Increase your burst, as if your trinket was a "Use"
2. Manage your burst potential (combined with other Mage's abilities)
I tried today this trick, on Sartharion 10 (Obsidian Sanctum).
With a T7/Epic not too bad, not too good stuff.
My average dps is approximatively 3K5~ on Sartharion10, today it was of 4k~.
The only disadvantage, it's the manacost of the Arcane Brillance. I have not tried if the "self" version works too yet.
I hope my first contribution for this site could help someone, and sorry if my English is not perfect, it's not my Mother's tongue ^^
Happy new year, and Have Fun !

Maybe it's not an exploit, but there is a reason if it works with Dalaran Arcane Brillance with an approx. 95% rate ? Or is it only luck ? ; )
Then, useless, I'm not ok. When on a fight, you reach the 35% boss' health, a Shaman casts his Bloodlust, you could be happy to "unleash" your wrath to 100% ;p
you really want to cast arcane brillance at 35% of a Bossfight? The internal will always be ready at this point? And you throw away your mana and 1,5 sec GCD for a maybe 3-6 seconds earlyer proc?
Mana is not a problem with a Ret Pal & a SP in the party/raid. Actually (and thanks to the actual JoW, my mana, as a FrostFire spec mage...
Then, I'm ready to sacrify my GCD to cast Arcane Brillance, to gain some burst capacity more. Praying that my other trinket ([Only registered and activated users can see links. ]) proces too, and.. !
any other spell has a large procchance for this trinket, so it will proc anyway. You will definitly decrease your DPS with that GCD. I think my DPS is fine enough with 5000 dps at patchwork.
Are you saying that Tome of Dalaran Brilliance procs the Dying Curse trinket 95% of the time?
Because if that's what you mean, it is an exploit, but I don't see why you wrote a whole damn page to say that.
Right !
Hm, why did I wrote a so long page ? I wanted to be explicit for my first contribution ^^
Quote:
I'm confused... what is the exploit here? Isn't it proccing after every internal cd is up anyway?
The trinket has normally 15% Procrate, but the Dalaran Arcane Brillance make the proc pop when you want.
After other tries, the procrate is lower with other skills (also from Arcane School) like Arcane Explosion, Arcane Intellect/Brillance (classic), etc.
So, It seems to be exclusive to Dalaran Arcane Illumination (strange wow's mechanics !). Maybe a hidden function to this useless and expensive book ? :P

ok - so this trinket have the proc chance of for instance 5%. But with this "exploit" he will cast up to 24 (25 man raid) times so many spells as a single target and that makes it 5*24=120% proc chance - IF for instance the proc chance IS 5%.
