It does work, but this is not an exploit. Clever use of people's lazyness and nothing else.

it IS an exploit. it doesn't seem like on though because it's not a very profitable thing. yeah, it can get you a couple gold if you do it enough....but sorry, i gotta vote this one a waste of time
Many people seems to have misunderstood the meaning of the word "exploit"
Exploit definition from wikipedia
"In the realm of online games, an exploit is usually a software bug, hack or bot that contributes to the user's prosperity in a manner not intended by the developers.
What is or is not considered an exploit varies between games and developers. The EULA (End-User License Agreement) typically states what type of gameplay is not acceptable."
So basically "exploit" is something that Blizzard doesn't intended for it to happen.
Any regular person should know that buying something cheap and put it on AH with higher price isn't an exploit, many people did this all the time. And if you report GM that some people doing this, GM would just think that you're nuts.
FYI, tricking people is called "scam" which also not an exploit. But I don't think this case is a scam either.
