caverns of time - 03-25-2006
All classes, no fancy tricks, working as of 1.9.4
Head to the entrance of COT in Tanaris, then head south and east to the coast. Look at the mountains over COT and look for this building with a valley headed up to it.....

run up the valley and you will find a stone structure embedded in the mountain,
stay to the right of it, you will end up here....

now, using the Jump-then press forward technique I described in my hyjal tut, you can slowly inch up this structure..

Its tricky, but the key is to make very fine adjustments to your jumping using the right mouse button,
if you face too far left or right, you will bounce and not 'catch' the ledge.
Run up the mountain to the ledge here...

then follow the legde to this point...

jump down, turn around....

and jump again, head to the 'gap' (I look backwards like this...

and fall down.... then head to the point nearest the door....

and your next jump will land you in the caverns,

Very nice! Be carefull not to fall in the white, ofcourse, like i did. You'll die ( no endless fall or w/e ) so it could be worse, but still .

Too bad the portals don't work

I have been trying this for a while now, but I can't even get up the first hill I always get about 3/4 of the way up then either can not get higher or fall down

You can also try to mount up and jump like mad, trying to get up ( both speed mounts work, but i prefer jumping anyway ). First time took me a while, but once you figure out where to jump it's easy.

I got past the portals just leads off the map In wow map view one path leads to black morass but the cot in game is in a dif spot.

Keep in mind, model size has a lot to do with getting up that rock face. I tried it with an undead/ud horse for nearly 15 mins with no sucess. Finally I did it with an orc/wolf mount and made it on my first attempt. This also might apply to gnomes etc, not sure.

tried with human, NE, gnome and UD
NE is easiest,
gnome is also ok
human is getting tricky
and ud is nearly undoable:P

btw tried it in 1.10.2 (latest patch)

I can't get through those portals at all. ON a film i saw of someone doing it they went through them all into various other places, but for me theres just an invisible wall. Anyone know how to get past it?

I got past it with nogginfogger using a different method, but 1.10.2 i guess may have made it so you cant go to those places anymore...i know what video you are talking about though.
