This is kinda a dupe, more of common sense.

Well, I was running SM today, and well there was this person who was attacking us. He kept healing himself! And my bro was running it with me too, and he kept saying 'Stop it from healing himself!' but after we killed him, I got twice as much xp! Does anyone know why?

The exp system is based on the damage system, and the more damage you do or your party does, the more exp you get. So whenever you find those mobs that heal themself, let the heal themself, and get a healer to heal you too, you'll get more exp. So just beat the crap outta the mob, let em heal, then do it again. You'll get more exp. And even more if your rested!

Depends if your "grinding" or if your questing, grinding, this would help questing, you just want to get out of there asap :P. Thanks for posting though, took me a while to figure out how there xp system worked after they nerfed assist powerleveling.

Great work =sinister=! +rep This new system was placed because some dudes lvl 10 or so where tagging a mob and their buddies where killking and the lvl 10 guyz was getting like 4k Now it's fixed

the xp system is given by damage dealt. if he heals himself you get to deal more damage.

i just sheep them over and over and over i once got 700 xp of a mob lower level than me by just doing that down side u lose all your mana and totaly got to drink but im a mage what do i care.

After some testing, the XP system is this: The more damage you deal per hit and overall damage output determines how much exp you recieve. So if you thought killing things that were higher than you would get you more exp, you were right and you were wrong. This also makes healer mobs more ideal to kill, e.g. Furbolg Shaman, Scarlet Chaplains(or whatever you call them). Plus, if you're rested, you'll get much more XP. So you can now destroy your belief that healing mobs are annoying.

Don't you think that killing a mob as fast as you can would be better? Sure you might get half the xp or whatever but you would half the time also. What I mean is: say you are killing "x-mob" and it takes you 1min(exagerated) to kill it because you let it heal and stuff, it gives you 700xp; however the fight leaves you with 20%HP and 5%MP. Normally it takes you half the time or less, we will say 20sec., it gives you 350xp and leaves you with 60%HP and 50-70%MP(sorry I play enhancement shaman and only buff my wep and cast earth shock once in a while).

With 60%HP and 50-70%MP I'm still ready to kill at least 2-3 more mobs if they are 1-2 LvLs below me. That is 1400xp in 1min 20sec. if the mobs are close.

Now the other way: After every mob you would have to drink and eat so lets say it takes a total of 1min 15sec. That is almost the same amount of time for half the XP. Sure it might be a little exagerated but I usually kill about 3-4 mobs before drinking and eating when they are 1-2 lvls lower.

Also, the more mobs looted the more money and better chance of rare items to drop!! This is just my opinion; however it is still a good find Sinister, and I will have to try it out for myself to really see how it is!!
