I have been coming across many exploits and bots and such people ask the question about IP bannings on trial accounts. You may come across a GM on a terrible day that just doesn't like people, but other then that -

1. Many times, multiple family members may play WoW, after they send out that ban they will have to close tons of accounts.

2. People tend to have more then 1 account for whatever reason, banning all of them for hacking or cheating is not ethical.

3. IP hiders and changers.

4. For hacking and cheating will mostly just result in suspensions and warnings, anything after that is a permanent ban. Permanent bans are on the top of the "Penalty Volcano" Blizzard constructed, there is no such thing as overkilling an account like in Mortal Combat.

5. Reading about penalties for your account on worldofwarcraft.com nothing there includes an IP ban.

6. New computer.

For those that believe an IP ban would be the banning of all your accounts connected to your IP when they were created -

1. Created at a friends house.

2. Family members (above).

3. Make an account, change IP.

4. People can be good at IP scrambling and/or hideing.

5. An IP ban would be extremely drastic.

6. Permanent bans are fine.

7. Anyone with the above, I have stated as IP hideing, scrambling and such, Blizzard will only promote hacking by just banning people who can not achieve thus far.


This thread is just to help some of you that are really curious about useing hacking tools off of this website to be more laid back

Blizzard might not instantly ban by IP but they are sure as hell flagging the hackers' IP, monitoring the accounts on the same IP and when one of the account is suspected of hacking, BAM hi2uban.

i agree with zag, if blizz bans you once for hacking/w.e then finds out that you made another account and continued hacking/w.e then bans that, eventually they will get peeved that you havent learned your lesson =/

Jagex doesnt IP ban runescapers either. Except one that I have ever heard of. His name was Kaitnieks. He was responsible for the Party hat dupe and many bots *if you know wtf im talking about*

So im guessing Blizzard may make an exception or two also. Maybe, creator of WowGlider, Matt, others..

They have been none for flagging trial accounts, so they ip ban you for trial accounts. Its happened to me, but i just changed my ip.

i had a friend who was a total idiot, using packet sniffers and what not, and he got his IP banned, block his account, his brother's account, his brother's girlfriend's account, and his son's account. i guess blizz had to weigh the risks and benefits on that one. but like i said, he was a total retard

Never seen it from this prespective. Does this involve going on to another persons account or changeing the password?

One more thing, wanted for a long time. Anyone know of a free IP changer or cracked one without a terminal virus? Need more trial accounts!

You have to get that new key from somewhere.
They don't care if you learn your lesson, they make more money if you don't.
