Reputation: 5 | | | Looting Badges/Drops off Boss with 2 Characters (same account) Not sure if this has been posted before but anyway.
This is a trick to be eligible to pickup badges and loot from the one boss, on 2 diff chars (same account).
First make sure both your characters are in the raid, and at the boss, i'll call them A and B.
So your logged on A atm. 5-10 seconds b4 the boss pull, start logging char A out. It takes 20 seconds to log, so the boss will be engaged with 10 seconds to logout.
Once char A is logged out, log char B in and continue the fight.
Once the boss is dead, you will be able to pickup loot and badges on char B straight away, and then relog char A and receive badges and loot also.
If for any reason your logout gets interupted when pulling the boss, u can also die, and logout. Then log your other char back in. | Donate to remove ads, get your "DONATOR title, and get access to the MMOwned community's elite Shoutbawx.

Reputation: 5 | | | Yah, thats what i thought to Roffle, but app not. Soon as the boss engages, produces zone wide aggro with everyone on his threat list. |

Login on the other client which will disconnect the first client, tell person to invite other alt.
???
Profit! |

Reputation: 149 Level up: 58%, 337 Points needed | | | | I know if you do a "/logout" you will get booted, but you can do a "/quit" and the raid will simply assume you've been disconnected and hold your place. (Alt + F4) works the same way...
My only concern is that you have to go and park one of your toons near the boss so that you don't hae to run all the way to him from the entrance... in which case I think if you get into combat with one character, it may not let you log in on another one...
idk :-\ |

Reputation: 9 | | | yes, i can confirm this does work. some tips:
1) you cannot log out if you're in combat, but you can open another wow window and boot yourself out
2) if you boot yourself out, DO NOT LOG IN the second character until the first character has gone fully offline. if you try to log in your second character before the first is registered as offline by the game, your second character will be ported to his hearthstone location due to the instance being full. this means there will be a 20-30 second window in which the group or raid must be able to live without your support
3) if the second character is for some reason not saved to the instance, the group leader will have to boot the first character and invite the second to make sure he doesnt get ported back to HS location (you have 1 minute to do this)
4) dont kill the boss to quickly. when the second character logs in, the boss will appear "grey" to him, so they wont get any loot/badges. after you're in the party, the boss will turn "red" for you after about 30-60 seconds, and both characters can get the loot
5) set it to free for all loot. if you use group loot, the first character wont get any loot unless everyone passes during group loot. setting it to FFA is just easier. alternativley, if theres people you cant trust in the group, use master looter |
