It does work but you dont get as many days as you may think. 11 days in 2.5 years and ive got 40ish characters spread over 20 or so servers

This IS a repost but since I just spent the last 10 minutes searching and can't find the thread so I guess that makes it not a repost. Hate that 45 sec before each search specially since every one uses different ways to describe things and you have to try wording the search thing 20 different ways. Oh well good job on the find.

Also they only give out free game time if they have to bring the servers down during the week. You wont get game time during just regular weekly maintenances. Also if you really want to increase your odds of having a character on a realm thats having problems and needed to be taken down, you should go on WoWwiki[Only registered and activated users can see links. ] and look up where all the servers are located in the country wise and put at least 1 character in each of those data centers to boost your odds.

Really old thing to do - wasnt aware it was still working - i used to have lots of lev1 on multiple chars long ago pre-tbc and it did give me copule of free days during a year of play. Worth to try if 1-2 days free are THAT precious to someone.

haha this is such bs.
you get an extra day where your MAIN char is, not on servers you got characters at.
and the extra day isn't guaranteed at all and rarely happens cause of the regularly maint.

I don't think the game can tell what char is a main and which is an alt.

Well I consider this as Confirmed since so many ppl are reporting that they are using this and it works. Yes it might not be alot of days but hey one day is still one day and after a while it will become many days...

Lol I suddenly remembered a time where I was inved to an imba guilds ZA group, they had only casters except me (enhancement shaman) and I would get all melee loot. So after we bang the gong I remembered I hadnt enabled Threat meter... So I relog and BAM "Game time expired". AND ALOT OF FRIGGING MELEE WEPS DROPPED FOR THEM LATER lol.. damn : (

The nasty part is that servers are usually up most of the time now thesedasys, this method worked very well before TBC, when you'd have some servers down after meintenance almost every time.

XmDXtReMeK is on the right track with the battlegroup you ever notice the same severs always down together.
