If you've ever run into a BoE pattern while in a group, you know that its a quick competition to grab. Generally speaking, BoE patterns (dropped by mobs) go for EXHORBINENT amounts. Thus, they are a coveted and pursued commodity.

However, it is principle that if a pattern drops that can (and will) be used by a group member, it goes to said person. We'll be exploiting that belief today.

You need:
1. Argent Dawn commission or any of its superior trinkets.
2. First Aid + the mats required to make any 1 bandage.
3. A pattern to drop.

Crux:
When equipped, an Argent Dawn trinket creates the exact animation as if you were to learn a skill.

Implementation:
1. Pattern drops.

2. Tell the group you need it, you have the ability to craft it, you will train it right there and then.

3. Attain pattern.

4. Begin creating a bandage of any level. Your character will begin his learning/creating movements (i.e. wiggling hands, listening to hands).

5. In a fluid and quick movement, interrupt the bandage cast and apply the Argent Dawn trinket.

- Your team members have just seemingly witnessed you training an ability.

- Never allow the bandage to successfully cast. Else the gain of 1 bandage will be announced to the group.


I pulled 5k-ish gold on 3 different patterns using this method when TBC came out.

I made my fortune pre-TBC pulling this stunt when running LBRS and taking the Fire Protection Potion plans. They sold for 800g a pop when MC was popular. I sat on over 13,000 gold on this lovely trick back then.

Nice Guide,But as you said this can only really be done in groups,In raids people in your guild know what proffs you have and know you will not be able to learn/Craft the item.

Well done man, will fool most groups.

Adding to it, no cast bar comes up if someone has you targeted while making the bandage...does it as you learn a pattern?

In theory this would work,
But wouldn't you be able to see the Casting bar if someone was targeting you,
and the combat log would just totally give you away.

Actually not a repost! This seems very useful. I tried it with some epic plans for bracers but my group had a blacksmith in it... I said I was one, but then they asked why the hell a druid was a blacksmith. Great idea though.

Actually, wait a second after re-reading this before giving you rep. This doesn't make sense. When a pattern drop's you can only roll on it, (Meaning it only pop's up on you're screen to need or greed) If you in fact have that skill.

Thus, meaning this doesn't work
