I do understand that when you make the transfer, it states that the transfer is irreversable, but I think the idea is to say that that your account was hacked into. Keylogger etc, and that they transferred off the toon. As stated here [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] . It states that they will investigate and subsequently restore the characters to the original state that they were before the transfer. So this should include any gold sold off. Sadly I do not have 10k gold to transfer off for sale so I can't test this out.

What it says in the webform is this : Note: If a character transfer is reversed, the character in question will be restored to its state prior to the transfer. Any progress made on the realm that the character was transferred to will be lost. If the character transfer to be reversed was unauthorized, action may be taken against the recipient account, up to and including account closure. Any action or reversal is at Blizzard's sole discretion.

Basically meaning, whilst you are waiting for the transfer to go through, you can sell the gold, and it will be refunded when it is moved.
