Partially right, partially wrong. The program is reading the connection between your computer and the servers. It hooks up observing the chat, and is very hard to detect for warden. It does not hook up to WoW.exe, but only reads the connection.
A RL example would be: You passing a café and hearing a conversation between some people. If you go up to the people and start listening, they see you. But if you just walk by, not really showing any expressions to be listening, they won't know you are. - If you understand what I am trying to get at. The program just listens, it does not do anything more.
Imagine if you played WoW and launched a server on the game port, and BAM banned because Warden thought you were packed logging or sniffing. :P Thats why it is safe (for now) to use this.
Of course you never know, this is for learning purposes as stated in the source, I hope you guys also use it for the same purpose.
