Alrighty, hello all. I came across a nice little spot yesterday in Netherstorm and figured I'd share. There is a quest called "Dr. Boom!" in Area 52 that sends you to kill Dr. Boom himself near the camp. You do the fight by running toward him, casting a bomb, and running out before his bomblings and he hit you for too much damage. What I figured out is there is a place you can stand that he can't hit you and neither can his bomblings. However, you can still hit him just fine with range weapons and your damage is so insignificant it's auto-healed.

Go to (35,59) and you'll see Dr. Boom in a little cubbyhole. Directly to his left is a red oil barrel (34,59). Jump onto that barrel and bow, gun, wand, etc to your hearts content without any fear. Nice little way to have your skill maxed for pvp or other endgame.

Pic 3 shows the barrel being put to good use. Just climb up on it via the boxes in front like steps.


I use the FuBar addon called "Recommended Zones" to show me map coords, but there are lots more out there that do the same thing. Hope this helps. Also, about being high level and having a high ranged weapon skill. This is not always true, because as a hunter we have gun, bow, and xbow. It's awkward to keep all maxed out for your level. Also, casters with wands and rogues/warriors with ranged weapons are hard to skill up without taking many many hours with each on whelplings and range mobs throughtout the game. Those mobs still do damage to you and you have to kill them and heal afterward. The only damage I took in the pic above was from fighting mobs outside of the area waiting for someone else to finish the quest.

These are map cords, you should download ct mod, then the mapmod for it and it will show you cords, most map mods will have cords this is the only one i know of off-hand
