THIS HAS ALREADY BEEN HOTFIXED AND IS NO LONGER WORKING!
Blizzard has implemented the new Midsummer Fire Festival with 2.4 ([Only registered and activated users can see links. ]) it starts on June 21st.
But for some strange reason (a bug), in Thousand Needles by the Great Lift if you go there, you get an awesome buff. This also happens in other parts of Thousand Needles (near the Tauren outpost there for horde).
As you approach the Great Lift you get a message. "Your bonfire is fully ablaze" or something like that then you get a 30% chance on hit or spell cast to inflict 10x your level in fire damage.
This is CRAZY for leveling a lowbie in Thousand Needles my Hunter who is 31 was leveling in 1k Needles and getting 310 extra damage....
Have fun until Blizz fixes it.

I'm not sure if you can bring a lower level, like 19 twink here, then que for wsg if the buff will last. If that happens this will be even more awesome. So far I can say it worked in Southern Barrens and 100k needles as I was just leveling there.

It started working yesterday, my first time playing after the patch 2.4. The actual festival starts June 21st. But the Buff is placed on you now. Which makes leveling in 1000k needles much easier. We were shredding thru mobs, was me 31hunter and my son 26 feral druid.
He was doing 260 damage per hit and I was 310 (30% proc rate).
I'm pretty sure this buff isn't supposed to be in 1k Needles at all. The bonfires are in major cities during the festival... not out in the desert.
I don't have any Alliance guys to say if it works for allys. But it is a zone buff just by being in the zone it seems.
Can you give a little more detail about where you have to stand/ what you have to do? I've been running in circles around the great lift area for 10 mina nd can't seem to get it to work...
I got the buff when I entered 1k from so. barrens. Ran to the Tauren place grabbed the 5-6 quests there. Did those, and did the 2 escort quests along the way. The buff never dropped. I died twice and upon resurrection the buff was back.
I went as far as the right most circle, to tame a cat. Did the centaurs at the northern part of zone. The wyverns at the western/left circle. Killed everything we ran across in the middle of the triangle that forms.
