Take a deep breath.
I want to get some of the stupidest things discussed on this forum straightened out. I will discuss common sense, the botting policy, and exploiting. I will tell you about the loopholes of Blizzard's policy on automatic leveling, the COMMON SENSE issue that many people spam, and exploiting. Common Sense:
/sigh. I am very annoyed with the "Common Sense" spam. Spamming has and is an issue in the MMOwned forum altogether. Leechers have been spamming gold sites and giving positive reviews to their own websites. I guess you can call me a hypocrite because I am a Leecher myself, do you feel good about yourself now?
Now let's get back on track, Common Sense has been used by very immature (insert very young or very old) year old boys (or men) who want to be a smartass in the forums. If they know it, they will most likely call it Common Sense, Guaranteed. This is not only disruptive, but it manipulates the decision if it's common sense or not to other users. This not only imposes an infraction for spamming but makes the two (or more) involved in a "flame" war. This will most likely get the thread locked and the flamer(s) and the poster (if nessesary) banned.
Me and you could get in a fight, right now. I would say some things, you would say some things, we would get banned, my (or your) thread would be locked, we'd be infracted upon, and it'd just be very angering. But I am not in the mood right now. Blizzards take on Botting:
It's simple, really. If Warden detects it, it will disconnect you, most likely suspend you, and, if it interferes with the server, ban your IP and possibly press charges. However, there is a small loophole in the Botting policy. Blizzard does not count anything under the LUA format as an bot or exploit, period. Blizzard may change this rule at any time possible.
For example, something like Glider could and would easily be detected if not for its shadow features. It is still possible for it to be detected because of it pressing the buttons instead of clicking on them. (I have absolutely no idea if you can change this feature.) But with an LUA bot, such as the popularly known HealBot, there is no rules. PERIOD. Exploiting and You:
It's not an exploit if you know a cool little macro that can save time, thats just common sense and obvious. No matter what, every game will have at least 1 exploit, there is absolutely no way to get around this if you make some game. For example; Should you find a shortcut that you believe no one has possibly has seen before, feel free to share it with us and let the critics decide if it's a nice find or not.

This used to be a place where you could laugh and joke with people, where if you posted your first thread, people would give you advice on how to make it better and more appealing. Now, it is gtfo you leecher, we don't need you here.
It has gotten bigger, and things change, I understand that. But you don't see the quality you used to, but you see alot of spam and tired mods from it all.
Basically guys, that unconnected series of stupid ideas has one point... MMOwned is about a community, a family of sorts.
Help each other out if you want it to stay good, want the members to stay here. Contribute positive thoughts, not negative flaming.
Make your replys to the thread either advice, nicely worded opinions, or thanks, not hate and spam. |

I have been on mmowned for quite some time and i have seen it change so much.
Its nothing like it used to be. To be honest its only changed to the worse.
And its because of a lot of different things. I could list them all if i wanted.
MMOwned used to be a community. Now i dont ever see anyone helping other people. All i see is people insulting other people.
I will always remember when i said "MMOwned is not just about getting your rep up" and the reply i got was "What is it then?".

When I first came here, it was as an observer. Soon, I started to want to help the nice people who I see around here. Now, everything is about the rep.
