Try searching the MSDN for the System.IO namespace. Lots of stuff in there to do what you want.

its not so much getting it done but learning how it is done.

by general idea was to make a program that would load up. and on load up it would list off the wow private servers you are a part of (obviously the user would add the reamlist and what not, but the program would save the info to a folder.) upon clicking one of the servers i wanted it to change my realmlist for me. i wasnt fully sure if VB could handle the default type for the reamlist. just looking around and such. lol i was just trying to find something to create as a project to learn VB

I made that in VB.

To answer your question, you don't have to change the file type to edit the realmlist.

I think he means converting a file, like gif to png or something.
Which can be done defintly!

Yes of course it can be done, but he went back and stated he was looking how to make a realm list changer, and I'm guessing he was wondering how to change the realmlist file from .wtf to .txt to edit it. Which is not needed.

Exactly, he doesn't seem to be responding here or to PM's either so I'm assuming he got his problem solved.
