Notice that the last version of the addon has not recieved a lot of testing and is still considered to be in beta!

This addon updates the health of player/party/raid members and pets much faster then normal by using the combat log rather then waiting for the server to send updated health info.
It works with blizzards default UI as well as ANY custom addon you might have installed. All you need to do is put it in your addons folder and enable it!
Notice, this addon only speeds up health updates for player/party/raid members and pets. Players/mobs that's not in your group will have their health updated like normal. This due to the fact their exact health is not know to the client which is needed for the addon to calculate someones health.


Here are some details for the interested reader:

The server doesn't send health updates faster then once every 0.3 seconds, sometimes it's slower.
Combat log messages are sent as soon as the event happens making damage and healing show at the client before the affected units health is updated.
There are strong indications that the server not just sends health updates a bit slow, but that it in fact calculates the health at intervals of roughly 0.3 seconds.
It is possible, sometimes, to get in a heal on someone with negative health if the heal lands almost exactly after the health drops to negative. If it's a instant cast heal and it's cast to slow but before the client knows the target is dead the heal is wasted and the person still dies.
This addon in itself uses very little system resources (up to around 100 kb of memory in 25 man raids), it does however make all addons listening for the UNIT_HEALTH event to do a lot more work (such as unit frames, damage meters and threat meters), depending on what other addons you have installed and the cpu of your computer you may notice anywhere from no performance impact at all to a fairly large performance impact from using this addon.

any word as to whether this addon is legal? i presume it is but with the whole "unfair advantage against players without this addon" thing blizzard may see it as a bad thing.

I think it's, didn't saw anything (comments) about some1 having problem with banning at curse forums, so I think its ok to use it

Chances are, Blizzard will probably implement this into the default UI themselves. It's definitely legal though.

the creator of the Mod Recount has previously posted that this addon is very poorly programmed and will screw up your other addons. dont know if this is true or not

I have tested it in raids for the past few days, and so far nothing has broke because of this mod. It is very useful in helping you take advantage of server lag to pop cooldowns or abilities before you actually die according to the server.

Nearly gives me a heart attack though everytime our tank dips into the negatives.
