Just bumping this up a bit. I use it when selling enchants and it makes thing 100x easier, it's killer for scams I'm sure.

Way way way outside of the scope of a basic addon. This could be done using something like innerspace, but not with just wow's LUA engine.

I shouldn't say that 100%. Using an addon and an external program (that wouldn't break wow's EULA or anything) you could send any tells you receive to your IM client of choice, but you wouldn't be able to respond.
