Hey guys,


I just recently got my wife into playing wow, so I was going to create an alt and level up our chars together. However, she chose to be a shammy, and I have absolutely NO clue what is the best lvling spec.

I started a shadow priest, only because I assumed I could heal her when I'm not helping dps .

Any help on this would be appreciated. Also, were only at the lvl 20 mark, so if letting her heal would be better, I may just run a different alt to her lvl and tank it.... however I already have a 70 war and a 65 druid. Thanks for the help in advance

enchment is the best to lvl on and from and after you get shamintic rage put points in resto

Something like that, my friend plays a shammy and once she get to lvl 70 i suggest she goes element 1 you do more dps and 2 you can withstand almost anything.

Its not a good spec for leveling, lots of useless talents. Use this:

Fill the talents in this order:

1. Ancestral Knowledge 5p
2. Thundering Strikes 5p
3. Anticipation 5p
4. Flurry 5p
5. Spirit Weapons 1p
6. Elemental Weapons 3p
7. Improved Ghost Wolf, Two-Handed Axes and Maces, Toughness, or even Shield Specialization because 1handed weapon is the easiest thing to level with until you get Dual-Wield. (1p, to fill 5.)
8. Weapon Mastery 5p
9. Dual-Wield 1p
10. Stormstrike 1p
11. Dual-Wield Specialization 3p
12. Unleashed Rage 5p
13. Shamanistic Rage 1p
14. Tidal Focus 5p
15. Totemic Focus 5p
16. Natures Guidance 3p
17. Healing Focus 5p

spend the last 2 points as you wish, this spec is designed for easy leveling, and mana proficiency, as it is important for best possible survivability and long lasting.

and BTW... elemental is not the best best damage spec. Dual Wield Enhancement is. Elemental is best for PvP, if you need a talent spec for that, just say so.

Put two guys in a raid, one Enhancement Dual Wield spec, and one Elemental spec. Equip them in equal Itemlevel gear, and give them equal buffs. equal skilled players, then enhancement will have the best dps, and damage.

Pfft i just love ranged classes so i always use elemental/resto , it is mostly what play style you like.

i agree dual wield enhancement is the best dps, stormstrike + windfury both at once = leet burst damage but then earth shock after that = more damage

enhance to 70 then play what you want.. heal, ranged dps, melee dps.

be warned tho, aside from trinkets.. shammy's have no inherent aggro wipe that I know of (I have a 67 ele shammy alt).. so its either stop/control dps or die.

the talent spec above me is the one i used to lvl, its the best i recon to lvl with, but take out 1pt from convection and take up 2H weapons till the patch, and then take the talent that takes over that, this is the most damageing spec for lvling, and i found it the fastest way to lvl

Wrigley is absolutely right, enhancement spec will do better dps then elemental spec, this is assuming they're choosing the right gear and talents.

Elemental is a pvp dps spec, it will crit higher then enhancement but it is all burst damage, and hard to sustain, sort of like a ret paladin.

Enhancement is the best leveling spec for a shaman, less down time more damage etc. Try and use a 2.60 MH weapon with windfury and at least a 2.40 OH with windfury but leveling trying to find those is hard so mostly what you do leveling is put WF on your MH and frostbrand/flametounge on your OH

Edit: In 2.3 it gets a clear cast buff. Its going to be no doubt the best leveling spec for a shaman
