What ya guys think of my Enh Shammy's Spec -
06-24-2008
Getting my Shaman to 70 sometime during this week, and was hoping to get some feedback on my planned spec. I haven't really done much research on a good viable spec for PvE, but this is me giving it a shot.
Hopefully this isn't one of those 'Only way you can go as a shaman' kind of things.

Your build is almost perfect. Personally, I would go with this.

The hit cap for duelwield is obserdly high, while 3% damage from shocks is more or less negatable. While this isnt 100% 'the only way you can go' I would highly suggest you take the hit over the 3% damage. 3% Hit will yield a higher damage output then 3% shocks damage will anyways.

I would use that
If I did go that route wouldn't I complete elemental devastation? As far as I know ghost wolf can only be used in ZA for PvE and even then it's pretty useless :P

I've been playing Shaman quite a long time so here are my thoughts:
Go for a build which allows you to take 3% hit talent in resto. Hit Rating (and thus +1% hit talent) has the biggest stat value before you hit the cap.
Getting Instant Ghost Wolf is very handy, but not for your everyday use. For PvP or some Endgame encounters (Hyjal, Supremus, Kalecgos, Bruttalus, Felmyst) but I don't see you going there yet.
As for the above spec: Elemental devastation is (imo) a piece of crap. No serious raider would ever take this, and I don't see a reason why a casual should.
Heh, alright I think I'll stick with the main spec I made, just a little adjustments here and there. Also, I don't think I'm going to be in Sunwell anytime soon so no Ghost Wolf, heh.
My shaman's talents are mentally retarded... [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] Feh, it works for me. I, personally regret going enhancment, and pvping... Nerfed class with a nerfed spec, ftl
If you have at least 47 hit rating from gear this spec is perfectly fine. You gain ~95 hit rating from dual wield spec. 95+47=142. The hit cap for Stormstrike and Windfury is 142 and those abilities are about 70% of your dps. That's the reason why shaman prefer pure ap stats over hit rating - their main dps abilities are already hit caped through talents. If you speced into Nature's Guidance you wouldn't need any +hit from gear at all.

As a raiding enhancement shaman, most of the specs posted here make my eyes bleed. There are two specs shamans usually choose.
[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
Enhancement / Resto Sub Spec
Improved ankh for when you pull aggro and die (And yes, you will).
Hit Talents so you need minimal hit from gear.
Ghost wolf is a filler, but in a raiding situation, you would almost never use the alternative talents. At least Ghost Wolf you will use sometimes. ZA/Hyjal/BT
You will sometimes see variations. As long as you have the Key Talents (SS, Dual Wield, Flurry, etc), Doesn't matter.
Aiming For: More +hit and easier totem twisting

Example Enhancement / Elemental Sub Spec
Shorter shock cooldowns
Resistant to some elemental damage
Stronger totems / lower mana cost of shocks, depending on which talents you ultimately choose.
Aiming For: Reverberation
Finally, for future enhancement shamans and those of the past. Please use [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] for your theorycrafting needs.
