Heroic strike is where you get all of your threat from.

Use the right skill rotation and you will never lose aggro.


Heroic strike / revenge ( if available) just put up 5 sunders, shield slam (every CD) and save taunt for when some ******* mage or lock goes full dps

im using shield slam/devastatex5/revenge/shield slam/devastate and keep going i dont really use heroic to keep aggro(its usefull but i just dont use it match) also in immune to taunt targets mocking blow is working just finefor me.

I currently tank all T6 content, and this is my prefered build..

You were close imho. Although, you will never need Iron Will when raiding. You don't get stunned, and if you do, 5% chance isnt going to help much. No bosses stun you, unless its part of the fight, in which case Iron Will isn't going to help anyways. Heroic Stike is, or should be, your most used attack. Lowering the rage cost is HUGE.

Figured I would throw this in.. The best rotation, and highest threat generating rotation is Shield Slam - Revenge - Devistate x2, while alternating Heroic Strike between your attacks. When starting off, ALWAYS use Shield Slam, or Revenge before devistate.

Having tanked from Karazhan to M'uru in Sunwell ive been using either of these specs:

I cant believe how many of you just ignore Cruelty in the fury tree. That is ALOT of threat you are missing out on. More than imp sunder or 3/3 imp HS gives, Look up the numbers at EJ :P

Right, most people just ignore it and then getting aggro problems...funny. I always specc cruelty...important talent for a prot warri, imho, because - how else do you wanna make damage? 5% are not less, and you will recognize it at bosses if you test it without cruelty and then with.
