Ever since I saw the first good-bye thread. Many other people have done the same, and many others seem to be leaving.
I think there is a certain attention that is given to a person when they make a good bye thread.
Reasons why people make good-bye threads:

- If a member contributed a lot and is the best in his section , he probably will be viewed as a hall of famer of that section.
- You get to find out what people really think about you. People tell you about all the good times they've had etc....
- You find out how many people actually want you in the forum
- Pride. As if you have accomplished your goal and it is your time to go.
This is sort of like in Cuba now when Fidel Castro stepped down and only NOW do people start talking about how much good he did, and ONLY how much good he did, he did a lot of bad also but which isn't mentioned as often as the good.
Go in emu section and you see this member of 14 rep with a good bye thread XD Nobody really cares but you can see the kid is obviously looking for attention. He also found out what people really thought about him.
It's also weird for a member to come back and post a " I'm back!" thread , this is because he got bored of mmowned for maybe 1 month and then felt the need for contributing or getting to know the top members again to get the latest emu/model tools or scams etc... |

If there is a well-respected member of the community, then they should by all means make a good-bye thread, if it's a guy that barely anyone knows then theres no need to really.

There are members who like certain contributing members, so if that person says in the Shout Bawx that they're leaving, then is gone, there's going to be a lot of confused people wondering where they went, since they can't access the Bawx.
They let us know what's going on, not just the select few people who were online at that time.

Piggy was like a god of mmowned! There shouldve been a page on the website for that guy!
I would say the thread would be excluding elite users, moderators and super moderators. |
