Lazy Leechers Should Be Able to Use The Search Button - MMOwned - World of Warcraft Exploits, Hacks, Bots and Guides

Hey everybody,

I've been seeing many leechers posting questions that they can't find on the forums, although if they did a search they would be able to find it. So they end up posting a thread on a question that's been answered and asked.

Don't get me wrong I hate leechers. Although on the other hand I don't know how some noob who just got into the forum knowing nothing about emulation or model editing can really get 5 rep in 1 month...( he'd have to post a rly good scam..)

Agree or disagree with the search button issue?

I fully support the idea, and the fact that they can't use the Search button. Why? Because if they can use the search button, they can find what they want, leave without contributing, and even post it on another website. If they CAN'T search, believe it or not, they have to contribute to find what they want! Somebody who contributes to this site is much less likely to steal somebody's work and claim it as their own on another site, and a leecher will be discouraged to do so because they'll have to take the time to look, and chances are a leecher is to lazy to do so.

It's a double edged sword, really.

Allowed to search: Original content from MMOwned is stolen and posted on the interwebz, no credit to this site. But not a obscene amount of reposts and dumb questions (hopefully).

Not allowed to search: Force people to contribute to the site if they want to view content, most likely bettering the site, but suffer from a flood of reposts and dumb questions. :P

What is that even supposed to mean? You are a leecher since you haven't made any contributions and looks like you post spam too . . .

Also, I agree that they shouldn't be able to search since I like answering questions....

Plus when you make a thread it auto searches....
So if you really want to have a question answered start a thread and as soon as you put in the title it says if something like it has been posted before.

what are they going to contribute if they don't know ANYTHING about emulation and model editing? The search button has helped me hundreds of times, thanks to the information I've been able to gather from it I now own WoWMafia which I have profited 350$ from people buying gm. I'm on the 2nd page of xtremetop100.com

Although just at the begining of the summer I was also a noob not even knowing mysql existed! How can a leecher contribute if he's clueless? The only thing left to do is post a scam.

The quickest/easiest/best way to get rep is to post a good informational thread about wow emulation/model editing or to answer other people's questions. How is a leecher going to do that if he has hardly any access to the best tool of the site? The search button.

And flip through hundreds of pages? Some of the best threads aren't on the first pages.

Want to find the latest ascent rev's? First you have to find which sections, then which page, could be on 1st page just like it could b on the 40th. Who knows? The search button finds this for you in less than 0.5 seconds. If a leecher on mmowned is a good emulator that just joined, wants to release a repack, he would have to flip through many pages to find all the custom items,vendors,areas,revs and NCDB's that are posted in this forum.

Sure now that thread with all the revs is on first page, but last week it was on the 4th until i posted a comment.
