Account give away section

I have been thinking that there should be higher requirements for the accounts give away section, making people that actually do a little more contributing to MMOwned to get this section in return.

I know there's a requirement for the section though that one should be replaced with 40+ Rep (unless donator) or something able to access it, or even more.

At least please consider this, as there's too easy to get access to that section as for now.

Currently it is 50 posts, and that's nothing IMO.

Unless you actually give stuff away in that section and don't like who gets it, then I really think you have no room to complain.

I started posting in AccG's when I had like 10-15 rep or so and built a large portion of my current rep there.

I have no problem with keeping it the way it is, nor do I care who grabs the items from my giveaways as long as they post that they got it (which 95% of the time they do).

There's already a shared lounge for those who want the higher status stuff so just use that.

I think the req should be:

• -50 posts +
  -25 rep
  -or Donator

There shouldn't be a Giveaway Section, those accounts belong to their rightful (but stupid owners for falling for the scam)

Just my Opinion. (I hate scamming)

While you may have begun contributing at that point, and account givewaways arent done in shared lounge.


The fact is that, while you and some other have begun contributing soon after joining, there are well over half a million member son MMOwned, usually nearly 200,000 hits per day, but only around 30000 Active members, meaning that as far as contributions to the site go, almost 470,000 members who have done very little [or nothing] on the site except leeching and flaming have the tendency to want to get free accounts, so in turn they go and spam other threads to get post count, degenerating the forum "Community" as a whole.

I would recommend something similar to the elite section as it was changed several months back, where anyone can post a thread there, but can only see their thread until they meet the requirements for the forum

I even agree with most of that, considering it would kick me out of the section, but what about the poeple who have things they want to give away, and can't, because they have no access to the section?
Because before the whole shutdown thing by that dumbass steve, i had 13 rep, and access to the section, now because of the brief shutdown, my rep got rolled back and i lose access, and i can't give away extra gamecodes i get from my youtube scam.
I know im only a nub on this site, but try taking that into consideration.

Well, we could always remove the section, and let the leechers do their own scamming, instead of leeching off of the community.

Besides, those who are Donator & + have access to the better Give-a-way... keep THAT in mind.

Besides the fact that that issue is a whole other debate.

If the people that contribute to AccG want to make a rep requirement for their threads, thats up to them. Else it's a FFA.

I'd have to agree with this with this, But the only problem with it is, People that wouldn't have access to the section after the changes, Could be people who are very actively posting in that section.

So this would work just perfectly with one exception:
Make it so members that don't have access to the forum, Can still see the forum but can't view any threads made in it except for their own.

I'm sure there's a vBulletin plugin for it somewhere I'm sure, but if this suggestion really matters that much to KuRIoS i'm sure he'd go searchin for it.

Just my thoughts on it.

I love how everyone posts about account give away section.. "I want it to be x amount lower than what i have now" . we made it this way and we are happy for it, we do not want the requirements higher.
