ESET Virus Radar on the MMOwned!
Hephaestus' Idea: ESET Virus Radar for MMOwned!
* ESET Virus Radar for Websites are Totally Free! *


I browsed around on the ESET Website, and found something pretty decent for Website.
The decent thing was a Free Virus Radar by ESET.
It detects all the Virus' located on a Website such as File Uploads on Topics/Posts.
Instead of using the VirusTotal on a Post, the ESET Virus Radar, will detect the Infected File immediatly, and will automaticly delete/quarantine it.

The Cool thing about the ESET Company and their products is that they're is allmost no Fault Virus Reports/Warnings displayed.
As you probably know that Avast Antivirus comes up with many Faulse Detections of Virus' etc.

So, i decide to announce this Cool and Free Virus Radar by the Famous ESET Company.

Virustotal.com will also work but its not automatic so...

Yeah, but using this doesn't mean people don't have to scan it before posting. A noob could till come along and run it whether it was scanned at virustotal.com or not which is why this would be useful.

Still, i Agree with you with the VirusTotal Scans.. Great explained!
By the way, even if the Virus Radar does come on the MMOwned, im sure that we will suggest people to scan their Files on VirusTotal before posting.

Bad idea, for one it won't download rapidshare links and scan them.

And two, Eset isn't great. Atleast with virustotal you have a combination of many anti-malware companies. One thing alone is nothing, it can be easily avoided by anyone who has half a clue with what they're doing. Not to mention it slowing down the forum.

The Virus Radar dosn't slow down the Forum at all.
It does clean the Various Files putted on a Profile/Post etc.
Still, ESET is great, but everyone has their own opinion.

the problem with auto-deletion is that several of the oh-so-lovely programs posted in the bots section as well as the other sections contain false positives which may trigger an unwarranted deletion of an otherwise innocent tool.

Then you wouldnt be able to post hack progs etc . Because stupid antivirus would detect and delete.

ESET dosn't detect such things like WoWGlider.
The Virus Radar does only Detect, and tells the Admin that there's a Virus around.
Then the Admin will approve or disapprove.

ESET actually has a good way/setting to pass over security risks and only detect real malware.

I know that, Phygar.
But the Virus Radar is basicly a very nice "Tool" for a Website.
The best thing is it is for free.
