Okay, so I want to get to the point. I think that everyone here knows how often reposts appear on this site, but what some of us don't realize is that not all reposts are intentional.
I, for one, have referred a couple friends to mmowned, and they have posted reposts because A. They didn't know that reposts were so bad (which no one can really do anything about >.<) or B. They searched once, went through the 50 searches, and saw nothing.
I believe that we should do two things...
1. The search engine needs to be able to hold more searches. 50 searches is not a lot when you don't do an advanced search and take 30 minutes trying to figure out how to use it to target a bunch of different forums with different keywords 
and
2. The search engine needs to get rid of the 45 seconds between searches. I would be fine with 10-15, just to stop people from shutting the server down by mass searching, but 45 seconds really keeps a lot of people from searching more than once. If they search the wrong keywords, they don't want to wait another minute EVERY TIME they search. I really think it's almost pointless having THAT much time needed between searches.

EDIT: I just saw the post where he said to have a javascript so that we don't have to keep refreshing, and people were flaming him because of they said he should just watch some youtube in the 180 seconds between the reporting posts things...
and so ahead of time, to stop all the flamers, I think that 45 seconds is enough to time get REALLY BORING and ANNOYING, but not enough time to open youtube, search for a vid, and watch it. Thanks.

Also the 50 results for the search thing I agree with only 50 is not enough... |

Reputation: 48 Level up: 21%, 397 Points needed | | | Well, yes, in the grand scheme of things, 8 minutes isn't that long... however, I have to say, when I have nothing better to do, and I'm just sitting there refreshing it, watching it go from 41 to 38 to 35 to 33, it takes 20 minutes >.<

The 45 second timer is there for a reason, and it shouldn't be changed. (Some people already try to search every 45 seconds JUST to put more load on the site. Lowering it won't help any)
I do agree, the results should be increased from 50 to at least 100. But then that can make screen scraping easy for those who are just here to leech content. (Probably 40% of the visitors to this site)
If you can't find something when searching, try searching a more broad term. Or try searching with more than just "stormwind bank", try "exploit stormwind bank". 9 times out of 10, you'll find the same thread you're about to post, from someone else. |

Is the search so burdening for the server? If so, maybe implement a googlesearch? |

Reposts are annoying but not too harmful. | |
