I honestly think the mods should just plain do a better job at determining what is a bump and what isn't. They have a feature on the forum that does not allow you to post to the thread after a certain amount of time. If the thread can still be posted to, and it isn't and obvious bump, then I think that there should be no complaints. If you can get an infraction for simply replying to a thread that is fairly old, then make the age of the thread before you cannot reply to it less. Otherwise I don't think they should have the right to give you an infraction if you aren't actually bumping the post, just replying to it normally.

If you can reply to an old thread that does not mean that its ok to do so, that is called necroing and is against the rules, the bumping infraction is given because its the closest that we come to a necroing one,,,
