mobile ownage.. - 07-07-2008
Okay I was thinking today about having a mmowned mobile version for phone browsers (less pictures, things to load, ect). At the moment on my phone i can access the website obviously but its weighed down by avatars and things. is this something other people would be interested in (m.mmowned anyone?)

This is a great idea IMO. I was trying to browse it on my iPhone on my road trip from a 24 hour road trip.

You can disable avatars in the user control panel.

You SHOULD be able to do this:

[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

At least I thought you could.

Definitly need it, I always go on Mmowned on my iPhone at local places, with Edge it takes forever to load Mmowned.

Setting up a theme for it and getting a new domain and stuff like that, it wouldn't be worth it imo. With the few members that use their phone for internet, it would just be extra money. And if it's even going to happen, then wouldn't if be a good idea to link to a mobile forum?
Because vBulleting would require an extra licens, and then you would have to change LOTS of things.

It wouldn't be hard either.. I believe Vbulltin has somthing along the lines of "Quick style viewer".. Just set one to very very simple.. where no signatures/pictures/avatar's are allowed.. and maybe only contributor's+ can have access.

why should it be contributer only than, even more money away trowing than, since almost on can visit it than.

All that is really required is a separate theme with some stuff trimmed out... not overly complicated.
