Raise Elite Requirement - New -rep system?

Well there are so much elites... a lot of them stop contributing after they reached 325 rep :-/ So my suggestion was to put the requirements higher... maybe 400rep or something...

I don't know how much elites have between 325-400 rep but i am sure most of them are between those values.. and a lot dont contribute anymore or they are inactive for weeks.

This is not meant against any elite, as i am one myself... but well daily i see people saying: omg so much purple today O.o

Yes i know some of you are going to complain... some of you are going to agree, i made this topic so we can finally see ALL opinions

ps: I am not hating elites that have 325-400rep, not at all... i love people who contribute

That was part one of my post... a other way to clear inactive members from usergroups like elite and contributor could be a -rep system... giving each member who has been inactive (didnt visit forum) for a whole month -10rep or something... and for example for people who didn't make any post in 1 month time get -5rep

This is a rough idea, but it could clear lot of inactive elites, contributors and stuff like that....

Personaly i don't really like the 2nd idea, people who have to go to army and stuff like that for months would lose lot of rep and they can't do anything about it ...

i want it to stay the same, so i can be elite sooner

but i also want ppl to keep contributing, i mean ppl contributing
and sharing stuff is what makes mmowned go round.

well, after the rep nerf it is already hard enough to reach elite. not super hard but still difficult. so I dont see why raising it to 400 wuld stop elites from getting to that then leeching (If alot of elites are doing that, i dont know). But the second idea if they are inactive alot or not contributing i agree but it would have to be worked on a bit.

well i didnt really give my opinion yet... i am still in a "grey zone"...

It is complicated. I see positive sides in it and negative sides... all i wnt is as much opinions about this as possible so i can clear up my mind and make a statement too

That is the negative side i also see... the nefing made it harder already but on the other hand people who got elite already just stopped contributing :-/ well thx again for posting

To be honest, I actually think that you should remove the "Elite" from a reputation gain-able group, so only people who are really active, contributing a lot, gets the title, after the admins / moderators choice.

As the community is growing, at least, it seems. More and more people will get contributors or elites, even how much reputation you need. So, in the end you'll have A LOT of elites. And being an Elite in my opinion is special, and only the most "epic" people of Mmowned, should have this title.

EDIT: It's wrong to "grind" yourself to Elite, which is special, than stop. What a lot of people do.

that is the thing i wnted to say !
Too much people just grind to elite to have acces to special forum sections and then they stop posting nice stuff or working to get better ><
I dont care how much rep i get for helping people... i just love to help, if they say thank you it is ok... i love that... if they give rep, well that is always a nice present but not the most important... and for some people it is

This has been discussed before.
As Clovian said, it's hard enough with the recent reputation nerf.
We had to decide between 350/400/450, or a new usergroup.
To motivate people to contribute we created the Legendary usergroup.
And it worked, sort of. Though, the pink username might be turning people away from contributing, hehe.
Personally I don't see this happening. It's fine as it is. If we see a problem rising, we might consider this.

On a side note, raising the elite cap will surely piss off the current elites. We don't want that.
