Depends, maybe some people don't buy it and leave their accounts as it is. Either way, this is indeed a way to prevent scammers scamming other people accounts, that's for sure. OR, it's another way to earn more money....seriously, Blizzard is just a money whore tbh.

Instead of buying a new acct for 20 bucks, you could just throw the key-lock in there for what was it 6.95? I was quickly skimming!

Uh, but wouldn't you need the account password first or how is this thing working? Say for example, I know the account name called gundam001 , and I buy that thing for 6,95 dollar, I apply that thing to the account, would I be able to log onto his account even if I don't know his password? If so, then it's nifty but I think that thing is only to verify for putting the real password in right?

There's a code at the back of this "thing".
The "thing" generates codes by that code on the back. When you input it in you WoW account, your account will maybe accept a code if it starts with an "a" then 3 numbers, 2 letters etc. etc.
So it's all out from that code.
I guess that if we study lots of the keys the things generate, we will in the end be able to create valid keys by inputting the key code at the back of the "thing" to a keygenerator made by someone. It's just about studying why the keycode "c9s8dj2d" at the back spits different codes out that "2f9akjds2".

I figured out a potential problem... where do we tell Blizz to ship it to? Obviously they will only ship it to the account's address.

No they won't. It's sent to your paypal address I think. And after they mail it to that, you enter the code on your account.

EU doesn't support paypal on WoW. So how want they do send it to those who use paypal?

Btw, it looks more naturally that they sell it...at your local store maybe?

Blizzard store account is different from your Warcraft account. From what I know, they are not linked. Just make a Blizzard store account and put your address in that and hope for the best.

i think blizz would give this for free since there is so much scammers out there and people below 18 years old that plays the game cant get this.. they should give it for free, not charge money to get your security up -.-
