The good news the site is backup, but I don't think it can handle all the people that are flowing back to it..

I got about 200x61 e-mails sitting in my gmail account (with more coming every second) that are mysql_connect errors.. that means the max mysql connections amount isnt enough to handle the load we are experiencing..

Do I accept donations? Nope.. But I might have to after I find out what its gonna cost to get us a nice fast speed server.

to find a good solid dedicated server host.. www.hivelocity.net looks good but they don't offer support unless i pay a stupid amount of money for it monthly.. anyone know linux?

it depends on what version of linux u are tlaking about red hat or gnome or any server based one my person fav server based os is red hat i do have a few boks on it if u would like them i could always make them in to e books if u would like or **** i would send u them lol i have ran dedicated servers befor they take aot of time lol but i can talk to a few friends that run dedicated servers and they host sites for hacking and cracking they dont really have any rules on what u post on ur site as long as they dont get the fbi at thier door but ill look aorund for u man i have been looking for one my self i am thinking of makeing a dedicated server to run a few wow servers and hosting my guilds site i seen one i like for 2,000 but all the stuff in it i can build my own lmao i got most of the parts in my closet lmao but if u interested in learning linux let me know man i have some good tutorials and some good books i could send u

I can learn linux through the online tutorials.. I was just curious we had a linux guru amongst us.. for moving the site and all.. that junk. I'll see if my site sponsor can help me out.. otherwise.. I might just pay the piper..

lol ur site aint that big lmao whats the server specs u are running off lmao but ya dude learn the basic linux u will learn how to transfer files and folder or root them in like the first 3 chapeters of any linux tutorial lmao but i can still talk to a friend of mine that makes web sites for a living he might be ablet o make me a quick tutorial on how to switch sites on servers

hosting your own site of a computer even Linux is not a good idea unless this site was smaller
Hackers/viruses/idiots tend to ruin good things
unless backup of the site on a 200+gb external every 10 minuets or so and then deleation of files older then 2 days whould keep it nice and clean and safe

Yeah, I was developing a text based orpg, I had a Linux Debian Server in my wardrobe, and of course, someone hacked my MySQL Database...
I had no good backups :/

This does not specifically apply to this forum however I think mmowned should have its own private server to test hax out on..not 20 dif servers with random people running them...I'm not saying they cant have their own but I think we should all have one to go to and actually meet eachother ingame not just through letters such as right now...yes I am expecting replies to this such as "well you havent even been with us that long and blah blah blah" I have been with you for a...moderate amount of time just not registered anyway was just a thought to test things out and whatnot again sorry if this was in the wrong place and feel free to remove if you see fit.
