Model Editing is Nerfed - 01-09-2007
The patch launched today that marked the end of most model changing...

I encourage those who keep trying to find ways around this, and good luck.

Lets not let this thread go off topic, eh?

I tried a couple things I was 99.99% sure weren't going to work, and, indeed, they didn't....

You can extract the signaturefile from the patch.mpq and open it in notepad to see all the models that were made un-editable...

By the looks of it, you can still do texture, sound, and WDB editing for sure.

My Troll ---> Blood Elf still works

but its kinda sad that they are gonna remove Model Editing and Walljumping

BTW, is it same release date in US and EU wow on patches and stuffs like that?

Wait, wall jumping nerfed? First I heard of this =/

Also yes this is a great shame, unfortuneately I dont have enough knowledge to find a way around it So best of luck to you clever ones on working around it!

My race model changes do not work. However my spell and creature model changes work fine. So it's not totally nerfed.

How is your troll -> BE still working? My UD -> BE stopped.... gives me an error 131 when trying to start wow now. My spell changes still work however, huzzah!

EDIT : my item edits (the m2 components even) still work! However, character file m2s still seem to be scanned.

If anyone knows a way around the race change nerfs plz speak up

Hmmmm...doesnt seem ALL that dead, 4/6 of my model edits still work, 3 weapon models, and a shield.....=/

Really hope someone finds a way around . I really want to make my Gnome an Undead. I am very new at this so i really like the guides you guys have posted (lots of help).
