Ur changes still seem to work because of WDB cache..
WDB is a way of modelchanging that still does work. I know what the client does to avoid any change but if u can get around, there is still warden that will derect u since latest patch.
At the end alot of thing that were possible with modelchanging are nerfed.

Ok some things do work, we know that. But DBCing (What the big boys like to deal with) is done. ADT swaping is done, and i imagine so is WMO. Lots of things are done for good.

So, yeah, just confirming model editing IS ****ed, big time, blizzard dont only use the signature file to check everythings correct, NOo... they have to go one better, they check if the signature file ITSELF is correct, I ****ing hate blizzard... -_-

If you want to see what's nerfed, crack open patch.mpq and extract the signaturefile and open it in wordpad. There's alot to go through, so I'd use the find feature if your looking for something specific...

There's a 4 billion M2s, 3 billion ADTs, and 2 billion WMOs in there... And all the DBCs a couple times... So yea... Guess they didn't put all of the models, but anything worth doing aside from the looks still works I guess...

Theoretically, couldn't you change the hex line to the desired file change to bypass the nerf?

EDIT: Tried to edit the signature file, and didn't work. Apparently, they use WoW.exe to check if the signature file is correct, and vise versa. Maybe if you could change the matching signature lines in the .m2 files themselves?

I thought of that, but I think wow.exe checks that the signaturefile is correct, and the signaturefile checks if the m2's are correct =\
